Building Inclusive Spaces, One Step at a Time

At Chocolate Inclusion, we believe accessibility should not feel like an “add-on.”
Inclusive features can be thoughtfully integrated into environments in ways that remain functional, aesthetically cohesive, and aligned with the identity of the space.

We are grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with BGA Inclusive Fitness and Singapore Association of the Visually Handicapped (SAVH) to design and produce customised tactile flooring for their gym environment.

These tactile guides were developed to support members with visual impairment in navigating the gym space with greater confidence, independence, and safety. Beyond functionality, the flooring was also carefully customised to complement the gym’s existing colour palette and environment, demonstrating how accessibility solutions can be seamlessly integrated without compromising visual identity or aesthetics.

We strongly believe that inclusive design can do more than improve accessibility. When intentionally designed, it can also:

  • Support an organisation’s branding and spatial identity
  • Reinforce values surrounding inclusion and social responsibility
  • Create warmer, more welcoming environments
  • Enhance the overall experience for all users of a space

Projects like these remind us that inclusion is not only about compliance or functionality, it is also about creating environments where people feel considered, respected, and empowered.

We would like to thank BGA Inclusive Fitness and SAVH for their trust and collaboration throughout this project. We are proud to contribute in our own small way towards building more inclusive community spaces in Singapore.

We look forward to continuing to explore how design, accessibility, and everyday environments can come together meaningfully.
